1. We watched the rube goldberg videos from each period and students voted on their two favorite videos. Mr. Kleiner will tally up the votes and announce the top two videos from each class soon.

2. Mr. Kleiner showed a demonstration of convection. A tube of water with food coloring at the bottom was put on top of a bunsen burner. The heat from the flame caused convection currents to form in the water and these currents were visible because of the food coloring.

3. Mr. Kleiner explained how a bunsen burner is very hot above the flame, but very cool even just a millimeter to the side of the flame because of convection. Students were able to witness this themselves by experimenting with the bunsen burner.

2.  Mr. Kleiner gave a boring lecture on convection, conduction, and radiation.  The class was shocked to learn that every person and every thing is emitting electromagnetic waves constantly.

1.  Mr. Kleiner gave a short introduction to our unit on heat.  We defined temperature and examined its effects on the phases of matter and the properties of matter.

Mr. Kleiner was not in class today. The substitute played a video entitled “The Elegant Universe” which introduces the concepts of the theory of everything and string theory

We spent the entire period going over the practice exam.  We also watched a short video showing two lead balls moving towards each other under the force of gravitational attraction
